Life Stories

After two successful years of running the life story project we are now embarking on a third. This time we are working with Heathfield Community College as well as Mayfield School and we have even more participants. The interviews will all take place in the older participant's home with the training sessions and ice breaker session allowing for everyone to meet each other and forge friendships as they share this unique and special experience. Please see the relevant page to see how the previous participants have enjoyed this project.

We have a few dates for your diaries for Dementia Awareness courses taking place in the Memorial Hall on Friday 29th Nov 10.15-11.30. Please contact Freya to book yourself onto one of these.  Unfortunately we have had to cancel Wednesday 6th Nov 1.15-2.30 due to the trainer being ill.

There is also going to be a Dementia Friendly Carol Service in St Dunstan's On Wednesday 18th Dec at 2:30pm. All are welcome to attend.

Intergenerational Activities

After the success of our ceramic sessions we are now expanding our activities to suit a broad range of interests, from icing cakes to decoupage and air drying clay. Our first activity was the arty crafty morning in the summer holidays which gave participants a chance to get creative using a range of materials. Our collaborative piece is currently displayed in the chemist window (which is where we plan to display all future collaborative pieces). Look out for posters around the village, on facebook and in the newsletter on future activities.
