The Mayfield Trust

What is The Mayfield Trust?

Mayfield Charity (informally known as the Mayfield Trust) is a Charity that provides short-term assistance to those most in need within the local community.  Originally it provided help solely to poor and needy individuals/families of the Parish, but in recent years the scope of the Trust has been increased and we are now able, in some circumstances, to assist local organisations in their support of the community.

The Mayfield Trust

(Mayfield Charity - Registered Charity No 212996)

The Mayfield Trust is a charity which provides financial assistance to those in need within our community, which includes the parishes of Mayfield & Five Ashes and Hadlow Down.

If funds permit, the Trust is able to provide a grant to individuals and families for a variety of purposes related to health, social or educational needs.  For example, this could include helping with a family emergency, assisting with the payment of a utility bill or buying an essential household appliance.  Very occasionally we may also be able to finance local organisations to help them provide assistance or a specific service to the community.

The grant is given on a one-off, rather than an ongoing payment and, although we do not make detailed enquiries into financial circumstances, we do need to ensure that we make grants to those most in need.

For further information on the Trust or to discuss a request for funding (either for yourself or someone else) please contact the Clerk to the Trustees on: mayfieldtrusteastsussex@gmail.com

An application can be obtained either from the Clerk at the above email address

All requests are treated in strict confidence

How you can help the Trust

The Mayfield Trust is a very long established body, having existed in various forms for about 230 years.  Its funds originate from money or property left in the wills of a number of benefactors, notably the Baker family.

If you feel you would like to commemorate your life in Mayfield what better way to do so than to leave a legacy to the Trust?  The needs we have to meet may change over time – they do not diminish or cease.

If you wish to apply for this grant please see below the information on completing it and the application form.
